D-MAX – Black Trade Body

This Isuzu D-Max has been transformed into a clean, practical workhorse with our 1700mm chassis-mounted Trade Body. Finished in black powder coat, it replaces the factory tub with secure storage that can be accessed from either side or through the rear.

The brief here was all about flexibility. The open interior leaves plenty of usable space for tools, equipment or a future modular fit-out, while the integrated 12V system provides onboard power for work during the week and weekends away.

Easy access from every side

The three-door layout is the standout feature of this build. Large side openings make it easy to reach equipment without climbing into the body, while the full-width rear door provides another access point for longer or bulkier gear.

Integrated steps around the wheel arches and strategically placed grab handles make it easier to reach the interior or roof. Once the doors are raised, their built-in lighting also helps illuminate the work area.

Integrated 12V power

A neatly installed Weekender 12V system gives this D-Max a practical source of power wherever the job takes it. The control panel brings the system’s switches, monitoring and connections together in one accessible location.

The setup includes a Hardkorr lithium battery and inverter, along with 240V outlets, 12V power and USB charging. Everything is mounted against the front wall to keep the main storage area clear and ready for equipment.

Ready for a modular fit-out

With a flush floor and uni-strut channels across the floor, walls and ceiling, the interior can be configured around the owner’s workflow. Shelving, drawers, dividers and other storage components can be added without committing the body to one permanent layout.
