We don't consider ourselves to be terribly interesting, but, here's our story, so you can be the judge.
It all started one day at the local gym (of all places!). Ian and Jake, our now fearless Co-Founders had become good mates. They shared a passion for getting off the beaten track and spending time outdoors. And of course, they loved anything with wheels and/or a motor. Jake a qualified plumber was keen to break out of the industry and Ian, a gym manager and PT was keen to try his hand at something new... And so Trojan Camping and 4x4 was born.
In 2020 the boys dipped their toes in the water with their first range of slide on campers. They were accepted well by their local Adelaide market. The slide on campers were really the start of the Trojan offering as we know (and love) today. The principles were the same of establishing a light-weight and durable 'platform' to customise to your exact camping needs. Ian and Jake always put customer service as a priority and as a result have completely built their product range based on real-world customer feedback. It's something they are super proud about.
Fast forward a couple of years and as the Trojan team grew, we saw the introduction of their tray and canopy range. The trays in particular increased the amount of usable space and the canopies were essentially a blank canvas for their clients to deck out as they pleased. With the introduction of the V2 trays and canopies, a national dealer network was established and Trojan is now available in all major cities. From this point on the Trojan brand has gone from strength-to-strength.
In 2024 the company rebranded to Trojan Canopies to better position the company in its well-earned niche of trays and canopies, and to prepare for future growth and opportunities to come in this wonderful industry. Ian and Jake now both have young families, (our future board of directors), and are very much still a part of the business. They are proud to be leading a strong team of industry experts and look forward to the opening of the new Trojan Canopies HQ in Adelaide, scheduled for 2025.

Ian is super chill on the surface, even though he's typically working on a million and one projects. He manages our national dealer network, heads up our marketing team and makes sure we are all entertained. He's highly creative and customer focused and loves stroll in the sun while he's on the phone.
Jake Attard
Managing director
Jake is our unassuming spreadsheet jockey. He makes sure we are on task, have the materials we need and keeps a keen eye on all operational aspects of Trojan. You'll often see him team up with Ian at the tradeshows or when they get the pencils out to start sketching their next product idea.

Marko is the latest edition to our HQ and boy was he needed! He comes with a heap of experience across a bucket load of industries. If you call through to HQ, you'll likely have a chat with him. He is an absolute gentleman and laser focussed on delivering top-notch service. Every, single, time.
